Our First Box of Produce From Tanaka Farms!

Today, we picked up our first box of produce from the Community Supported Agriculture program at Tanaka Farms!  Our first box included the following:
  • Fuji Apples
  • Strawberries
  • Carrots
  • Cauliflower
  • Kale
  • Celery
  • Broccoli
  • Romaine Lettuce
  • Spinach
  • Snap Peas
  • Kohlrabi
  • Japanese Turnips
It has been really hard for us to make it the local Farmer's Market, so we thought we would try this out until we actually get a vegetable garden going in the backyard.  It costs $30 for the large box of produce, and the farm is located close by.  It was fun for everyone to drive to the farm and pick up our box.  It was even more fun to come home and discover what was inside!  Right now, all four kids are feasting on strawberries, snap peas, and apples!  Even my picky eater loves it!

  1. We have loved being part of a CSA here. It has certainly helped with my picky eaters since they get to see the farm their produce is coming from.

  2. I always loved places like this. Food that is good to look at and good to eat. That romaine lettuce is making my mouth water. So glad you found a place like that until you can make it to the farmer's market or start your own garden with lots of cheap labor. LOL

  3. Being a big salad eater I love the looks of the romaine lettuce. Sounds like you got a lot for your money and it is fresh.
